ABOUT ABOUT

The Sheila Divine

“The Morbs” is an ambitious new offering from The Sheila Divine. Fans have come to expect sensitive anthems and soaring epics from the band, and this latest effort more than delivers.
They’ve weathered their angry youth. They know who they are, they know where they stand in the world, and they’re not mired in the past. This newest collection of songs isn’t a wild departure from what fans are used to, but it’s certainly not just more of the same. “The Morbs” sees the band at their most self aware. “Beautiful Midnight” sets the tone, with frontman and songwriter Aaron Perrino calmly asking questions about modern love before angrily exhorting us to take everything away. Right from the start, it’s clear that this album has the weight of life and experience pressing down on it. “Long Way To Go” delivers classic TSD, striving for greatness while the world at large celebrates mediocrity and lamenting that happiness is elusive but somehow leaving us brimming with hope. There’s a jab at the one percent via “Watch Out For Us”, and a descent into chaos with the perfect closer “End Of Tether”

Weakened Friends

Weakened Friends was started with the intent of just wanting to get back to really having fun with music again. Although a fairly young band (the three only playing together since June 2015) Annie Hoffman, Cam Jones and Sonia Sturino have all been playing in various New England based bands (The Box Tiger, Field Effect, Worried Well) for years now, so coming together on this project has really just felt unstoppable. They recently put out our very first four song E.P called "Gloomy Tunes" this past September and a single called "Waste" in November. The songs are short, moody, candid and to the point, they're not over thought in anyway, which crafts a really relatable and approachable sound. With a high octane live performance to boot, they wont just remain so and so's "other band" band for very long as they are surly make a name for themselves!
Despite what their name may have you believe the trio are really just the best of friends making music that we all truly enjoy and have fun with. That all really comes off in their sound, the songs confront a lot of the harder things you go through as a young adult but in a fun upbeat way. "Essentially we're a band about how we've all got weakness, but you know true friends don't judge you for that...our songs are about that" -Sturino.

"Gloomy Tunes, a collection of four upbeat, supercharged songs that lyrically reflect the confusion and chaos of modern life." - Vanayaland

"Homegrown furious noise rock" - The Boston Herald

"Sturino is a charismatic frontwoman, and the three of them together make a pretty dynamic trio — “Gloomy Tunes” is certainly a misnomer, as this is among the most entertaining indie punk I’ve heard in a long time." - Bangor Daily News

Jenna Lotti

Jenna Lotti is a (26 year old) pop soul singer-songwriter from Boston, MA. Originally writing poetry for self-medication, Lotti began penning open book lyrics at the age of 15. Singing only to herself and close friends eventually she was convinced to attend a local open mic in Boston. After nervously singing an original song to an iPod recording, she was met with very positive response from the small crowd which led to further musical experimentation.

Over the next few years she incessantly wrote tunes, learned to play the guitar and started recording YouTube videos (in her bathroom). Drawing from her childhood musical influences in pop, blues, soul and big band Lotti’s music is a soulful distillation that flirts with both her stirring and sweet sides. After countless open mic’s and years on YouTube she started booking small shows around Boston.

As her shows grew larger, so did her band and her collection of original songs. In 2013 she created a successful kick-starter campaign which led to the creation of her debut album “Tunnel Vision”. The 9 song LP propelled her career into the next stage showcasing her songwriting and musical capabilities. Tunes such as “Red Line Love” (w/ accompanying music video), “Strangers”  and “Medicine” drew wide acclaim by fans and local media.

“Not only one of the most talented artists I’ve heard but the nicest and hardest working too.”
-Matthew Reid - Mix 104.1

“Loved her vibe and her voice is incredible...a lovely talent”
-Brittany Haggerty - Buzznet

Jenna received the nod for Limelight Magazine’s 2015 ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ and was nominated for "Female Performer of the Year" in 2016 by The New England Music Awards. This recognition was punctuated by invitations to open for national acts such as Hunter Hayes and Buddy Guy. Lotti is getting ready to release her sophomore EP this summer.
